Shotgun Waltz Event

Competition Summer Knockout Winners 

Last Sunday saw two of the summer knockout finals being played on a rainy and extremely windy morning! S.O'Hanlan/M.Kondagari earned a hard fought victory over N.Watkin/J.Betts in the final of Denys Earl. Whilst in the Hugh Sherman (Scratch) final, D.Bible edged a 2/1 victory against N.Barnes who won the Presidents Cup just one week before against M.Lighfoot. 

Big Congratulations to all the winners of the summer knockouts and good luck on retaining your titles next year!


 

Dates are now in the Pro Shop for our Junior coaching sessions. A reminder that these session are no longer taking place on a roll up basis. If you would like your child to participate then please come put there names down in the shop!


 

MOT Your Clubs 

It is that time of year when you need to give your equipment a bit of TLC. Lots of us will play time and time again and never wash the clubs or clean the grips. You have to remember that the grip is the only point of contact with the club. Worn tires are the same as worn grips - loss of control and grip, especially in damp conditions.

New In

As shown in the last newsletter, the Callaway Big Bertha Fusion driver made its grand entrance into the ProShop last week and this week we took a closer look at it... 

With their new Fusion Technology, Callaway have been able to combine an aerospace-grade titanium Exo-Cage with the ultra-light triaxial carbon crown and sole, I know it all sounds extremely baffling but in a nutshell this fantastic combination of materials has allowed Callaway to position substantially more weight in the perimeter of the club and further back in the head too. This has made the Big Bertha Fusion much more forgiving on those miss-hit shots. 

The triaxial carbon Exo-Cage has given Callaway the freedom to re-invent the head shape design not only so it looks appealing to hit but to increases clubhead speed with better aerodynamics. The head shape also gives a higher MOI (Moment Of Inertia) which means that the club will resist to twisting on those off centre hits. All this means that the ball should fly straighter...even more forgiveness! 

Callaway have gone the whole 9 yards with this driver because they have even put 2 very classy shafts into the clubs as standard; the UST Recoil which is UST's first ever driver shaft, designed to load energy in the downswing then unload with exceptional power and precision through impact. The other shaft is the Diamana Red which encourages a high launch with low spin which combine for faster ball speeds making it easier to hit a distance enhancing draw. These shafts come in 2 different lengths making it easier to fit a driver tailored to your golf game!
