Captains Drive In

It was that time of the year again, when the captains elect face that nerve-wrecking ceremonial tee shot on the 18th and I'm pleased to say both of our captains handle the pressure very well! Bill Tomlin (Captain) knocked it just short of the green whilst Elaine Campbell (Ladies Captain) stuck it inside 15 foot. Easy game! 

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Bill and Elaine all the best over the next year but most of all, remember to enjoy it! 

The klaxons rang at 8.15am for the start of the Captains 'Drive In' event which was a paired American Foursomes format. Congratulations to the winning pair (Pat Breen & Aaron Shorter) who came in with a quite ridiculous score of 49 points! Very well played guys.

GC2 Launch Monitor

I think 2017 is going to be a great year at the club and here are a couple of reasons why. At the end of December I decided that I needed a launch monitor, not only to help me fit members with the right equipment but also to help with my coaching. 

I decided to invest £6000 on a launch monitor called the GC2. Without giving you all the lengthy details, it tells me everything I need to know at the most important place - the point of impact between balls and club. 

As a golf coach and club fitter I need to know what that ball is doing, how much it is spinning and what angle it is spinning. This in turn tells me why you not hitting it far enough or why you are always slicing.
