Ashford Win Again

Ashford's men's East Kent league team successfully defended their tittle with an outstanding white wash win (5-0) against Boughton from Division three.

Leading the charge and first off were the "day glow duo" of Stuart Biden and Jamie Wood who choosing to play with the new illuminous ball defeated the young pairing of Jack Howlands and Matt Clifford 2 & 1.

Next up in the second of the two scratch pairings were Mark Penfold and Callum Gardiner, the Ashford pair winning 3 & 2.

The first of the handicap section were the new pairing of Lee Smith and the ever improving James Wright who defeated Brett Scull and Suan Thompson 5 & 4.

Next up in the handicap section were the ever reliable Craig Oliver and big Jack Owen who not to be outdone also chose to intimidate the opposition with the day glow ball and run out winners against Boughton's captain Steve Waterman and Grahame Miles 5 & 4.

Ashford completed the white wash with Rookies Tony Rawbone and Keith Hopson winning two up.

The next game is against sheerness at home on Saturday, 29 April at 1.30pm.

Lombard Trophy Results

A big well done to Colin Andrews on winning the Lombard trophy with a nett 66.

I look forward to us playing at Walton Heath in the final qualifying. 

On a close second place was Darryl Bartholomew with a nett 67 and James Wright and Russell Keep were tied third with a nett 68.
