Its been a awful start to the week weather wise as the heavens have opened raining pretty hard for Monday and Tuesday. Over the next few weeks we have a wide range of things going on within the Pro Shop including some fantastic shop offers and promotions and also a Ryder Cup 2014 special club house sale with some amazing offers and discounts available. 

As mentioned last week, 2014 will also have a Take On The Pro's Challenge for the members, which will involve a friendly 4ball better ball match against myself and Simon. This will be a fun, but I'm sure competitive match, to see who can rise to the challenge, a sign up sheet with dates and times will be going up on the Pro's notice board soon. Feel free to put your name down if you fancy a challenge.

We will be holding a Yonex Demo day here at on Friday 5th September from 10.00 am to 2.00pm with a wide range of Irons, Drivers, Fairway woods and Hybrids for you to try. 

Custom Fitting is such an important thing which is sadly over looked by many club golfers. Having your clubs fitted to you personally is the way to improve your general game by obtaining a better quality of strike and more distance with the correctly fitting clubs. 

Do you have the right size grips for your hands? Having a grip that is to small for you can increase the amount of hand rotation through impact causing you to hit the ball left of target and grips that are to big for your hands can have the reverse affect and decrease the amount of hand rotation causing the ball move right of target. 

Making sure you have the correct lie angle is so very important. By having a Iron that is 1 degree out for you can cause you to miss your target by up to 5 yards, if your club is 2 degrees out up to 10 yards off line, it is proven that the average golfers clubs can be between 2 and 3 degrees out.

I have been here now for 2 weeks and enjoying my time very much working for Mark and alongside Tom in the Professional Shop, I have been a Professional Golfer for over 11 years now and have been Fully Qualified for 8 years. I have not yet been out and played the course yet but I will be out there very soon and getting back into playing more golf. I will be offering some coaching offers over the next month which will also be advertised our Pro Shop notice board.

I will be offering lessons for a special introductory offer of just £15.00 for 30 min and 1 hour lessons for £29.99. I will also be offering free 15 min lessons on Putting, Chipping and Bunker play so please feel free to come into the shop to book a time in my diary.

Ashford Golf Club Pro Am 2014

On Friday 17th October 2014 we will be having the Clubs Pro-Am. This will be a fantastic day and is available to club members and also non members. The day will consist of 18 holes Pro Am format with the best 2 nett scores out of 4. 

Each team will consist of 3 amateurs and 1 Professional. The day will include some amazing team prizes and also individual prizes such as nearest the pins on the par 3's and also longest drive for the amateurs. There will also be a lovely buffet included and will be and all round fantastic days golf and socialising.

The cost is £40.00 per person for club members and £80.00 per person for non members to enter. There will be entry forms available from the Professional Shop and will also be around the clubhouse. Please feel free to contact us in the Pro Shop if you have any questions or queries.
