Ryder Cup Clubhouse Sale

Its Ryder Cup week and I'm sure we are all cheering on the European Team and hoping for a repeat of 2012 at Medina with an amazing win for Paul McGinley's European Team this week. Over the weekend on Sunday 28th we will be holding The Ryder Cup Clubhouse Sale with some amazing offers and discounts available so feel free to come up and have a look around. We will have our shop products displayed in the clubhouse such as great deals on all shoes, clubs, putters, drivers, irons and wedges, also men's and ladies clothing while the final days single matches will be going ahead and showed in the clubhouse.

New and Upcoming brands

Myself and Simon have met with quite a few new reps from different companies over the last week or so and have put together some ideas and have decided to bring a new and very positive brand to the Professional shop. We will be introducing a full and vibrant brand of ladies clothing to the shop called Green Lamb.

On Course Foundation

On Wednesday 24th September we held the On Course Foundation golf coaching which gives the fantastic opportunity for injured servicemen and women to be able to play golf. We had myself and Head Professional Richard Harrison of the Roehampton Club coaching and also my Head Assistant Simon helping on the day. It was a fantastic day with the servicemen and women enjoying themselves thoroughly. We covered all areas of the game from long game consisting of iron play and fairway woods to drivers, and also the short game looking at chipping and putting. I was astounded at the quality and level of skill that they performed and it was an overall remarkable day.

I would personally like to thank those members that assisted on the day and helped with collecting of golf balls on the practice ground. So thank you again.

Re Grip offers

You often ask yourself the following question, HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY CLUBS RE-GRIPPED ?

As a rule of thumb, you should re-grip once every year or every 40 rounds. Regardless of how often you play, ozone, heat, dirt and oils are constantly at work breaking down the materials that make up your grips. Granted, frequent play and personal preference may dictate re-gripping sooner, but with normal use there's enough degradation of the material after a year to warrant fresh grips. Keep in mind that grips lose a significant amount of their original feel long before they become hard and slick. Because it happens slowly over time, most golfers fail to notice it. That's important to remember because just a tiny, imperceptible slip at contact will be magnified to many yards by the time the ball reaches its target. Many people find that getting in the routine of re-gripping every Spring as the golf season "officially" begins is the easiest way to remember.

Seniors Coaching

Starting on the Thursday 11th September there will be seniors coaching running from 10.00am - 11.00am on a weekly basis so feel free to put your name down on the sign-up sheet.

Ladies Coaching

Simon is running the ladies coaching which is still on a Tuesday morning from 10.00am - 11.00am again on a weekly basis so feel free to sign up for any sessions that have free slots.

Simon will be offering lessons for a special introductory offer of just £15.00 for 30 min and 1 hour lessons for £29.99. He will also be offering  FREE 15 min lessons on Putting, Chipping and Bunker play so please feel free to come into the shop to book a time in his diary.

Ashford Golf Club Pro Am 2014

On Friday 17th October 2014 we will be having the Clubs Pro-Am. This will be a fantastic day and is available to club members and also non-members. The day will consist of 18 holes Pro Am format with the best 2 nett scores out of 4. Each team will consist of 3 amateurs and 1 Professional. The day will include some amazing team prizes and also individual prizes such as nearest the pins on the par 3's and also longest drive for the amateurs. There will also be a lovely buffet included and will be and all round fantastic days golf and socialising.
